Niet echt, 4-1 gegaan, 8 boosters verdiend. Ronde 2 wat pech. Best goed deck met insane bom. Drana "als ik blijf liggen, ga jij niet meer verliezen" de dikke vampire bom: 3BB 4/4 flying met als ability BBX: target creature becomes 0/-X until end of turn, Drana krijgt +X/0. Iedere pot dat dit ding bleef liggen gewonnen (en dat is wel een keer of 6 gebeurd).

Let us now go through the entire spoiler to find out what common and uncommon answers exist to this beast:

Black: Can Induce Despair if you have a four-mana card in hand, might be able to Virulent Swipe if you can keep a blocker in the air – which, given that the turn after she comes into play she’ll destroy anything with three toughness or less, seems improbable.

Blue: Can Deprive it if you keep the mana open and is aware it exists, can Narcolepsy it (though it will still destroy your board from the sidelines), can Regress it (but it’ll be back), might be able to Unified Will it.

Red: Can Explosive Revelation it and hope to get lucky, can Flame Slash it, can Heat Ray it.

White: Can Guard Duty it (though like Narcolepsy, it will still destroy your board from the sidelines), can Oust it (though you’ll see it again in a few turns), can Smite it (if you can keep a flier in the air long enough to block it).

Green: Zero answers.

So if Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief hits the board, all the colors in total have five ways to definitively get it off the board. Three of those spells are Red. If you’re playing Green, you’re screwed.

Plus, Drana annihilates any Totem Armors in existence. (According to the FAQ, if the creature is below zero toughness, the totem armor “has no effect.”)

And she’s a rare, not a mythic, so you’re going to be seeing a lot of her in the upcoming PTQ season.

RoE staat al in gatherer dus je kan gewoon een linkje maken. Ben zelf niet naar een pre-release geweest maar kan me voorstellen dat Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief vervelend is in limited. In constructed is het niet goedkoop genoeg denk ik. Poppetjes in RoE hebben behoorlijk hoge verdediging, het kleine grut is sowieso niet veilig. Eerder dat je grote poppetjes ermee dood ben je 8 mana verder.

Drana is cool, kan me voorstellen dta je daar veel potjes mee won.

Dat is natuurlijk indien je iedere beurt een land speelt. Dat hoeft niet eens: blijf je op 5 mana dan is het val 3x aan voor 7. Dat is een goede klok die ook nog eens iedere beurt een beest molt met toughness 3 of minder.

Ik had ook Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief in mijn sealed pool. Ik had verder een erg zwakke pool, met bijzonder weinig creatures waardoor ik niet anders kon dan drie kleuren spelen (geen splash, gewoon drie kleuren). Niettemin won ik nog drie matches dankzij Drana.

Wow.

This is a certified, unquestionable bomb. When I got it into play, they either dealt with it immediately or died. (Spoiler alert – they mostly just died.) The fact that it is a 4/4 flier in a format with few creatures capable of blocking fliers is significant. Drana is a dragon with firebreathing, but not just a dragon with firebreathing. She has firebreathing plus kill your dude every frickin’ turn. This is like Archbound Ravager risen from the grave. Like Ravager, no matter how badly you have misplayed up to then, once this hits play it just wins you the game. It is insane. Once this hit play, I pretty much never cast another spell all game.
