Visiting Amsterdam

Bericht door Konradcurze »

Hi,

I am visiting Amsterdam this 14-18 Oct.

My gol is to attend Amsterdam Music Festival on 16 but I want to try my magic deck that I recently build.

Is there still a place to play MTG? I read an article about this site but it was back in 2011, so I am not sure it is still around or not.

I have not play magic since onslaught set.

My Facebook is Shin Inaho from Bangkok Thailand. You can look me up there.

Hi,

my group sort of disbanded, so I'm a little out of touch with Magic in Amsterdam at the moment. I do however know that there will be an FNM this Friday:

You can always visit The Gamekeeper (store) and ask them, they are a helpful bunch:

Or you may be able to reach a wider audience if you post your question on this site:

I would offer to meet up and play, but to be honest, my place is a mess right now (had a washing machine leakage) and I am really not sure when I would have time. It's also a little difficult to judge from your post what to bring to the table: if you haven't played since Onslaught, but have recently built a deck, are you playing with old cards or with new cards? Are/were you a highly competitive player who had like every good card 4x or someone who played Magic casually every now and then mostly to have fun with friends (likely multiplayer)? I ask because when meeting up with people I haven't played with before I often find myself in the situation where there's a big power level difference between the decks brought to the table and that's no fun for any of the players. There may be the same problem with other players you might find as many casual players will be blown out by competitive Onslaught era decks, while competitive players may hardly notice any resistance from those decks, if your decks go more towards the casual end of the spectrum the latter becomes even more likely (power level has crept up a bit since the Onslaught days) while the former will be more balanced due to the casual nature.

(Personally I could build competitive Type 1 (now commonly called Vintage) decks if not for 1 important card that I am missing, so as you might imagine I am (nearly) always capable of overpowering anything thrown at me, so hence my focus on this concern and encouraging you to make sure any potential opponents have some idea of the power level you would be looking for).

Good luck!

I am staying at Bew Western Museum. I will have a look at the site and shop you recommended.

My deck is Vampire deck and white weenie which both use the card around 5years up to date.
